and how it affects your orders of Corset Making Supplies - Updated 22 Feb 2021

Thank you for ordering with Sew Curvy. The Pandemic is still on, and Brexit has happened.  Nevertheless we are still plodding through - thank you for all of your support.  Current situation is now as follows:

  • We are still dealing with a large volume of orders and sometimes it will take a couple of days to process your order, especially if there are many parts.  Generally we prioritise T24 orders but we do all orders as quickly as possible.
  • We are still sending orders to Europe - EU customers will now have to pay VAT on arrival in their country, but as all our supplies originate in the EU or the UK, there is no duty to pay.
  • If you live outside the UK, please do not expect your parcel to take less than 10 days to reach you - it simply is not possible right now due to the Pandemic and Brexit (EU)
  • The mail service is absolutely overwhelmed while running on between 50-80% of their usual resources
  • Airmail is taking much longer due to air traffic, customs, your native postal service restrictions due to CV19.
  • Although supply chain is better, Brexit happened in the interim and I still can't always supply eveyrthing in your order due to stock shortages and supply chain slowness - if it's on the way we'll let you know, if it's not, we'll send a substitute or refund.
  • You can get the most up to the minute updates and info by following me on Instagram @sewcurvysupplies  or Facebook.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any queries please do send us a query, but first, please check the FAQ's below incase I can save you some time and myself a job.

If you do not get a response straight away please be patient.  I am a one woman business.  I will be packing orders, teaching, making corsets or seeing clients.  I am always very prompt with emails but I am not glued to the computer.  Mornings are always best for contact as that's when I do the admin.

Please note that I do not have a business telephone number

your email query will be answered usually by return but certainly within the day except during public and festive holidays.

Q:  Do you sell corset making supplies?

A:  Yes, please click on the link which says 'Shop' to the right of the page, or along the top bar menu or simply click here.

Q: Do you send samples?

A:  Yes, all I ask is that you cover your postage.  You can find the sample listing here.  Please complete the text box with details of what you would like.

Q: How much is postage within the UK?

A: Our postage rates in the UK are £3.50 for orders under £5. in value, £4.15 for the Tracked 48 service and £5.40 for the Tracked 24 service. Please click here for postage details.

Q:  Do you ship internationally?

A:  Yes, please click here for postage details - EU customers will now have VAT to pay via their postal or courier service.

Q:  Are there any spaces available on any of your courses?

A:  I am currently not teaching while I take time to move The Oxford School of Corsetry online!

Q: Can you phone me to take my credit card details?

A:  Sorry but no.  I am a one woman business.  I do not have a business telephone line, and I do not have a remote credit card facility.  Unfortunately I just do not have the resources to run this facility both in terms of time (I am running 4 businesses on my own) and finance (not only additional bank fees, it would involve hiring an additional person too).

Q: Why has my order not arrived yet?  I ordered it ages ago.

A: Your order will normally be shipped within 24 hours of receipt unless there is a problem with the supply chain or during busy periods and holidays.  Once your order leaves the studio it is in the hands of the Post Office service.  For all orders national and international, post is not considered to be lost until 28 working days after posting date.  If you are outside the UK please allow enough time for your package to be sent and please consider your country's customs process.  Usually Airmail will arrive in country of destination within 10 days.  If you need to know where your parcel is at any given time, then please select the tracked option at checkout.

Q: What currency are your prices?

A:  We are based in the UK and our currency is £ sterling.  Paypal will convert your native currency automatically.

If you still have a question please get in touch via the contact form but please understand that I simply cannot conduct a personal service either in person or via telephone.  Everything we have to offer is on the website and most queries are answered above.

Q: Can I have a wholesale discount

A:  We are a retailer not a wholesaler.  Please see more info on this HERE.

NOTE:  If you live locally, Please do not just turn up at my studio without prior arrangement.  I am a one woman business,  Sew Curvy isn't the only thing I do... I may have a corset client here for a consultation or a fitting, or I may be out on a buying trip or I could be extremely busy making corsets or doing admin for the website - that includes photographic set ups in the studio which make it impossible for buyers to just turn up and buy stuff.  Whilst I am always very delighted to meet my customers and reduce costs by allowing them to collect an order from me, it is absolutely imperative that my time and space is respected, and therefore prior arrangements and appointments are absolutely vital.
