This dress was featured in the 1860 issue of Peterson's Magazine and has been re-created by Truly Victorian for modern sizes.
The bodice has a moderate low square nickline typical of a dinner/evening dress of the mid 19th century. The short sleeve has a puffed undersleeve with an over sleeve. The centre back laces closed. The waist can either be pointed or round.
The skirt has 7 fabric ruffles and 6 lace ruffles and also has a centre back closure. It has a waistband which can be left separate from the bodice or attached.
