12 inch (30cm) steel tapered corset busk fastner for corset making.
A heavier weight busk than the usual flexible busk, and this busk is tapered so that it is wider at the bottom and narrower at the top. A tapered busk gives tummy control and as the busk is flat, it does not 'cup' the tummy as a spoon busk does.
This type of busk is commonly seen in Edwardian corsets which are typically straight fronted (from about 1910 onwards).
These conical busks are made of fine German steel, are very strong and can be inserted into any corset design that uses a straight busk, where a little more strength is required.
