Thin bra foam for forming bra cups in lingerie, swimwear and dressmaking, it is made from foam sandwiched between two softer fabrics.
Can be used for making bespoke bra cups or adding extra shape and volume to dresses with cups, cupped corsets, and for adding a layer of padding to bras.
When joining bra cup pieces, cut the peices from your pattern without a seam allowance and then join the edges by stitching over the join with a zig zag stitch. This will avoid bulking up your seams with surplus seam allowance and make your cups nice and smooth. Alternativly, you can make seam tape from nylon bra liner fabric and use those to join the cup pieces together.

A fat quarter is a quarter metre, but rather than a full width skinny peice, it's half a metre, cut in half - a fat quarter (rather than a skinny quarter metre). A fat quarter of bra foam measures aprox 50cm x 72cm
